The course starts and finishes in downtown Boone, running on roads through the heart of the city. Both distance options share the same start area, so the morning has a single gathering point rather than a split field. The whole event is part of a larger street festival, so the finish area turns into something busier once the race wraps up.
The parade rolls through downtown not long after the race ends, which means the course clears out on a firm schedule. Staying after gives you access to a food court and live music already setting up nearby.
