About the PSRR Free 5K Run/Walk
The course winds through Hammel Woods Forest Preserve, a trail run through wooded preserve land. It is flat enough that strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, and course marshals are posted along the way to keep everyone on track. A water table sits out on the course, and water and sports drinks are available at the finish.
Parking at the main lot off Brook Forest Road fills up, so carpooling is worth considering. Overflow parking is available elsewhere in the preserve. The race benefits a local school each year, and there is a raffle at the finish; bring cash if you want to participate or make a donation.
