About the Project Forward Heroes Gobble Gallop
The route winds through Martins Ferry's streets, mostly flat with a few uphill stretches. Proceeds support local veterans, the police fraternal order, and the fire department, so the civic purpose is hard to miss. Both runners and walkers are welcome, and there is a competitive walk division alongside the main event.
Packet pickup and race-day registration open an hour before the start, so there is no need to scramble the night before. Awards cover a broad range of age groups for both the run and the competitive walk, and they are handed out not long after the field finishes.
