About the Powerful in Pink

The race runs through downtown Bremen and is organized around breast cancer awareness, with proceeds going toward mammograms and early detection support for local women. Vendors are set up before and after the start, so there is activity beyond the race itself. Awards cover a wide spread of age groups for both men and women.

Parking is in the school student lot, reached by turning off a U.S. highway route onto Florida Avenue. Early packet pickup is the evening before at a local fitness studio in Bremen, with race-morning pickup available as well.

Common Questions About the Powerful in Pink

Will I finish last at the Powerful in Pink?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:30, and the last recorded finisher came in around 58:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Powerful in Pink a good first 5K?

It is a small race (144 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Powerful in Pink?

The 5K winner ran 18:58 while the median finisher took 39:30. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
