About the Powder Springs Hometown Run
The Powder Springs Hometown Run draws neighbors, school groups, church groups, and local businesses to the same starting line. The course is not described in detail, but the race is designed to feel like something the town owns rather than an outside production coming through.
Registration and packet pickup open early on race morning, with an opening ceremony and warm-up before the start. A post-race celebration runs for a stretch after the finish, and the award ceremony recognizes overall leaders as well as age groups and a school spirit competition based on which school turns out the most runners.
