About the Porter Fire's Stop, Drop and Run 5K
The course runs through streets and along a bike trail, starting and finishing at Hawthorne Park. The terrain is mixed, so expect pavement to shift underfoot as the route moves between road and path. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, which tends to shape the feel of the starting area. Water is available at the fire station partway through.
Parking at the park itself is limited, with overflow in a grass lot nearby at Waverly Road and Franklin Street. Registration stays open online through the morning of the race, but there is no on-site signup. After the finish, refreshments and snacks are out. Restrooms are available at the park's community building and at the fire station along the route.

The Porter Fire's Stop, Drop and Run 5K has been held every year since at least 2015. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
