This race started because a puppy named Poppy survived a serious illness, and her owner wanted to give back to the veterinary assistance program that helped. The funds raised go to animal rescues in the area. Dogs are welcome on the course, so expect some four-legged participants alongside the people. The route offers both a timed run and a shorter walk option.
