About the Polar Run 5K and Reindeer Plunge
The race runs through Central Park before finishing with an optional jump into a freezing lake. The park course and the plunge are separate enough that you can do one or both, and the winter setting is the whole point. This is a race that leans into the cold rather than apologizing for it.
A portion of each entry fee goes to one of the Jones County School Athletic Boosters, and runners choose which program their money supports at registration. The charity angle is baked into the entry process, not tacked on after.
