About the Pocono Mountains Marathon Race Festival: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
The course runs entirely on paved roads through Promised Land State Park, looping around the upper lake area. Fall foliage is the backdrop for the whole thing, and depending on the timing, the color can be at or near its peak. The park setting means the surroundings are quiet, wooded, and far from traffic.
Packet pickup is on race morning near the start, which is in the overflow parking lot off Bear Wallow Road at the upper lake. GPS can be unreliable here, and putting the park name into a navigation app tends to drop you at the ranger station rather than the start area. Cell service is also thin, so it is worth knowing the route before you leave home.
