About the Pink 5k Oak Brook Park District
The race winds through a park inside the Oak Brook Park District, a green and open setting that keeps the course pleasant underfoot. The event benefits breast cancer outreach, with proceeds going toward mammograms for women in need, so there is a clear purpose behind the morning beyond the running itself.
Packet pickup runs on the few evenings before the race at the Family Recreation Center on Forest Gate Road. On race morning, pickup moves to the north end of the turf field, opening before the start and closing shortly before gun time.
