About the Philip Barbour Zombie Run
The course in Philippi alternates between steep paved climbs and narrow dirt singletrack with exposed roots, loose gravel, and sharp drops. The constant switching between surfaces keeps your legs guessing the whole way. The twist: zombies are staged in the wooded trail sections, and every runner carries a flag belt. Cross the finish with at least one flag and you survive.
Awards go to top finishers and race walkers, with age group recognition as well. The event is open to runners and walkers alike, so the pace of your group does not determine whether you belong here.
