About the Peter's Run 5K and The Bryant Mile

The 5K heads out toward Bear Grass and back, an out-and-back on a rural route where the front runners will know quickly where they stand. The mile walk runs alongside it, untimed, in memory of a pastor who had a habit of stopping for donuts on church field trips. True to that, walkers stop midway for one. The race benefits a local school food pantry and a book bag program.

The event opens with a short devotion before the start. At the finish, there are sausage dogs and donuts. The morning has a purpose behind it that most road races do not.
