About the Perrysburg Schools Elementary Cross Country Series

The races start and finish on the high school campus, with the school's older cross country runners hosting each meet. The youngest kids cover a short loop while the older grades step up to a longer course. Results are handled by a local running shop, so timing feels organized even for an elementary series.

The whole series is free for Perrysburg School students in kindergarten through sixth grade, and signing up once enters your child in all the meets. Missing one is not a problem. Post-race ribbons go to the top finishers, with finisher ribbons for the rest of the field.

Common Questions About the Perrysburg Schools Elementary Cross Country Series

Will I finish last at the Perrysburg Schools Elementary Cross Country Series?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 4:08, and the last recorded finisher came in around 21:11, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Perrysburg Schools Elementary Cross Country Series a good first race?

It is a small race (80 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Perrysburg Schools Elementary Cross Country Series?

The race winner ran 3:06 while the median finisher took 4:08. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
