About the PeaceHealth Appletree Marathon
The course passes through Fort Vancouver, along Officer's Row, past Pearson Airport and the historical Old Apple Tree, then follows the Columbia River for a stretch. The terrain is road and the route is flat throughout, which draws runners chasing qualifying times. There is a lot to look at, and the historical surroundings give the whole thing an unusual texture for a road race.
Several distance options share the same general course corridor, so the start area has a range of runners out at different points in their morning. The shorter distance runs the evening before the longer distances, which gives marathon and half marathon runners a chance to shake out their legs on the actual course ahead of race day.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
