About the PCOM Superhero 5K FUN Run/Walk
The course runs through Meadville with a flag-lined stretch dedicated to local veterans and first responders, which gives that section a noticeably different feel from the rest of the route. It draws a wide range of participants, many of them in costume, and the patriotic theme runs through the whole morning rather than just the start and finish.
Registration opens on race morning, so you can show up without pre-registering. After the run there is a costume contest with several themed categories, a kids' sprint, and a raffle drawing. A collection drive for essential items is part of the event, and families can meet active police, fire, and medical personnel in a designated area near the finish.
