About the Paws Along the Erie 5K and Festival
The course runs out and back along a stone dust canal trail, which keeps things smooth underfoot and mostly flat throughout. Dogs on leashes are welcome to run the whole thing alongside their people, and the field tends to reflect that, part serious runners, part folks out for a morning with their dog.
The finish drops you into a festival at the Canal Boat Museum, where there are vendor booths, food, and a chance to spend time with animals from the shelter that puts the race on. Check-in happens on site, and dogs need proof of current rabies vaccination to participate.
