About the Pat's Miles for Moms
This race runs in memory of Pat Deaton, whose motto pointed toward helping others, staying active, and keeping things good-humored. It benefits Moms Helping Moms, a charity that supplies diapers, formula, car seats, and other essentials to families in need. There is also a kids dash for younger children, so the morning tends to draw whole families.
The cause is front and center here. Every entry supports an organization that works across the state to get basic supplies to families who need them, so the crowd around the start line reflects that, people who showed up because the mission matters to them, not just to run a fast time.
