The course starts at a mountain reservoir and drops continuously down into Parowan, losing a serious amount of elevation along the way. It runs almost entirely downhill, which makes for quick times but also means your legs feel it differently than a flat course would. The surroundings are open mountain terrain early, then the route settles into the valley as town approaches.
