About the Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk

The course follows the Martin Slough trail out of Heritage Park, so there is natural scenery along the way rather than pavement the whole time. The race raises money for local cancer treatment centers, and the tradition of wearing pink gives the start area a pretty distinct look. Leashed dogs are welcome, which shapes the crowd noticeably.

The race starts and finishes at Heritage Park on the Ezell Street side. Registration opens before the gun, so you can show up that morning without having pre-registered. The organizers ask walkers and stroller-pushers toward the back to give faster runners room at the start.
