About the Outrun the Hackers 5K
The race begins at a carousel pavilion on City Island, loops the island, then crosses the pedestrian Walnut Street Bridge onto Front Street before turning back the same way. The surroundings shift from the island's open grounds to a riverside stretch with views of the city. Cybersecurity-themed checkpoints and themed zones are placed along the route, giving the race a distinct personality beyond the finish line.
Packet pickup is available on race morning during check-in at the Carousel Pavilion, where the start area is also set up. City Island has on-site parking and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Post-race there are refreshments and an awards ceremony for top finishers by age group.
