About the Outrun Hunger

Outrun Hunger is a charity race in Commerce that sends all entry fees and donations directly to two local food pantries serving families in the area. The course runs on a paved trail with some crushed asphalt sections, so it is mostly smooth underfoot but not entirely groomed. Running strollers with larger wheels have managed it; standard ones have not.

The township building stays open on race morning for check-in and as a staging area before the start. Chip timing tracks everyone individually, so teams do not need to stay together on the course. An award ceremony follows the finish, with raffle drawings after that for anyone who sticks around.
