About the Osprey 10K Run / 5K Run-Walk

The course runs through Smith Mountain Lake State Park, starting at the beach pavilion and climbing steadily on park roads before turning onto a wooded trail. The shorter distance retraces back from a mid-course turnaround, while the longer option continues to a viewpoint where the lake opens up on both sides, then adds a brief out-and-back on a side road with the steepest hill on the course.

After finishing, there is fruit and other light refreshments at the finish area. Top overall and age group finishers receive custom awards made by local artists.
