About the One King Sports 15K

The course runs point-to-point along the Harrison County Rail Trail, starting at a church in Lost Creek and finishing at a veterans' memorial park. Rail trail means flat, paved, and easy to follow the whole way, with volunteers and water spread out along the route. A shuttle runs from the finish back to the start before the race, with registration for that option handled when you enter.

The finish area is inside the park near a splash zone, so there is open space to cool down and wait for others. Entry fees are lower before race day, and the cutoff is generous enough that walkers and slower runners have room to finish comfortably. Proceeds support youth sports programs and scholarships in the area.

Common Questions About the One King Sports 15K

Will I finish last at the One King Sports 15K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 15K field finished slower than 1:29:28, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:01:23, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the One King Sports 15K a good first 15K?

It is a small race (55 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 15K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the One King Sports 15K?

The 15K winner ran 1:02:36 while the median finisher took 1:29:28. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
