About the 5th Annual Old Fort Turkey Trot
This is a Thanksgiving morning run that starts and finishes in the gravel lot at Hillman Beer on Commerce Street. The route is open to runners, joggers, and walkers, and the entry is free, which makes it one of the more straightforward race mornings around.
The finish area has refreshments waiting, and there is a table where finishers can choose something from a selection of prizes. The race benefits Mission Ministries Alliance, which provides shelter and housing services locally, and donations can be made online beforehand or dropped off on race day.
