The course runs dirt roads through a part of rural Florida that feels genuinely remote. Live oaks draped in Spanish moss line the route, cattle outnumber other traffic, and roadside fruit stands appear along the way. It is a gravel ride, not a trail run, through open country that has not changed much in a long time.
