About the Oktoberfest Fly Away 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk
The course runs on the Burke-Gilman Trail, heading out from a brewery and distillery taproom on an out-and-back route toward Bothell. The trail surface is paved and mostly flat, so it is easy to find a rhythm early. The race falls during Kenmore's Oktoberfest weekend, which gives the morning a livelier feel than a standalone race day.
The start and finish are at the taproom, which gives the post-race scene a natural gathering spot. Packet pickup happens earlier in the week at a local chamber office, with a second window the evening before at the launch location. Parking is on nearby streets and at a park-and-ride with crosswalk access to the start. Leashed pets are welcome on the course.
