About the Ocean State Rhode Races
The course runs along the water and finishes at Narragansett Town Beach, so there is ocean in view for a good stretch of the route. The marathon is certified for Boston qualifying purposes, which signals a course that has been measured and taken seriously. The half marathon is the final leg of a longer series of Rhode Island halfs, so some runners arrive already knowing the organizers.
After finishing, there is a recovery area with post-race stretching provided by a local physical therapy practice. A nearby brewery hosts the post-race gathering, with a complimentary drink included. The finish area has music and a beach setting, so there is reason to stay a while.
