About the Occoneechee State Park 2026 Annual Turkey Trot
The course runs through Occoneechee State Park on paved park roads, rolling through wooded stretches with views of John Kerr Lake. It is not flat, but the hills are spread out across the route rather than stacked together. Pets on leashes and costumes are welcome, and there is a kids fun run for younger attendees.
Race packets are available the morning of the event. There is a park entry fee at the gate, or you can bring a few canned goods to donate to the local food bank instead. After the race, an archery contest and other activities are set up in the park for families to stick around and enjoy.
