About the North Ridge Nightmare
The course runs through North Park on wooded trails with a mix of flat sections, punishing climbs, and tight single-track. Underfoot you get rocks, roots, and likely mud. Part of the route passes through what the organizers call the most haunted street in Pittsburgh, which fits the Halloween theme the whole event is built around. Fall foliage is usually at its peak.
Packet pickup on race morning runs out of the Rose Barn at North Park, closing before the start. After you finish, the Rose Barn hosts a trick-or-treating setup in the club's own style, so there is a reason to stick around.
