The course runs flat along Main Street, starting from a funeral home parking lot in the heart of Clermont. The surroundings are small-town and open, and the race falls on the same weekend as the Clermont Days Festival, so there is activity in town beyond the finish line. The race is named for its finish-line treat, a cupcake waiting for each runner who comes through.

Race morning registration and packet pickup both happen at the start, in the funeral home parking lot on Main Street, so there is no separate pre-race errand to run.
