About the Nocterra Quitter's Run

The course winds through streets, bike paths, and sidewalks in Powell, starting and finishing outside a brewery's beer garden. The terrain is essentially flat, and the whole setup is built around that beer garden: it is the finish line, the crowd, and the reason to stop early if you feel like it. Several distance options let you decide how much you want to take on.

The race has a firm cutoff by early afternoon, so longer distances mean an early start and no dawdling. An emcee on course will actively try to talk you into quitting. The beer garden is open and waiting no matter when you finish.

Common Questions About the Nocterra Quitter's Run

Will I finish last at the Nocterra Quitter's Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.275 Miles field finished slower than 36:17, and the last recorded finisher came in around 56:44, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Nocterra Quitter's Run a good first 3.275 Miles?

It is a small race (72 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.275 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Nocterra Quitter's Run?

The 3.275 Miles winner ran 23:45 while the median finisher took 36:17. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
