About the Nitro Turkey
The race takes place at Point Pinole on Thanksgiving morning, which gives it a particular character: costumes are common, and the crowd skews toward families out for a holiday tradition rather than a tuned-up field chasing a PR. Walkers are as much a part of the morning as runners, and there is a short kids' race where the children run against a character called the Nitro Turkey.
A food drive runs alongside the race, with organizers asking people to bring a canned good on race morning for a local food bank. It is the kind of detail that shapes the atmosphere at the start line, where most people seem to know each other or will by the time they leave.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
