About the Next Play Athletic Foundation 5k
The course runs along the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, so you have the ocean on one side and the familiar boardwalk scenery throughout. It is a flat route, and the setting gives it a beach-town character that is hard to replicate on a road or trail.
Halloween costumes are encouraged, and there is a prize for the best one. Gift baskets and a raffle are part of the post-race scene. The race benefits a foundation that funds youth athletics, covering things like equipment and travel for kids who need the help.
