About the Newstead 5K

The course starts at the South Mountain Annex and winds through the Newstead neighborhood, with several roads closed for the race. It reads as a neighborhood run rather than a park trail, so expect pavement throughout. After the main race wraps up, kids' events take place on the lawn and on a section of closed road near the Annex, which gives the morning a family reunion sort of feel.

Street parking is spread across a few nearby roads, including Glenview, White Oak, and Duffield. Some roads close before the start, so arriving early and building in extra walking time is worth it. Packet pickup and registration happen race morning before the start, so there is no need to make a separate trip the day before.
