About the Neptune’s 8K Race
The course runs along Atlantic Avenue, right at the oceanfront. It heads north, then turns and sweeps south all the way around Rudee Loop before coming back north to finish. The route is flat throughout, with the ocean beside you for most of it. It feels like a road race that happens to be on the beach, not a tourist event dressed up as one.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Smartmouth Pilot House, a local brewery a block from the oceanfront, with a second window on race morning in the park at the start. The post-race party is in that same park, with pizza, beer, hard seltzer, a DJ, and a kids' race that follows on Atlantic Avenue.
