About the NCVAN 14th Annual Know Hope 5K Walk Run

The course loops Lake Benson and White Deer Park, keeping water in view for much of the route. The terrain is park-style, and the pace of the field tends to reflect the purpose of the day: this is a remembrance event for homicide victims, organized by a statewide nonprofit that supports survivors and their families. People come to honor someone, and the atmosphere on course reflects that.

Race-morning registration opens at a shelter near the lake. A virtual option is also available for those who cannot make it in person, with participants logging their own time and distance on a course of their choosing.
