About the Nashville Jingle Bell Trot

The course winds through Orchard Bend Park, a trail setting that keeps things interesting underfoot and away from road traffic. Holiday costumes are a real part of the morning here, so expect Santa hats and reindeer antlers alongside the usual running gear. Awards go to top finishers and to whoever shows up dressed best.

Worth knowing before you go: the park restrooms are winterized for the winter season, so there are no facilities on site. Plan accordingly and take care of things before you arrive.

Common Questions About the Nashville Jingle Bell Trot

Will I finish last at the Nashville Jingle Bell Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:29, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:25, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Nashville Jingle Bell Trot a good first 5K?

It is a small race (75 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Nashville Jingle Bell Trot?

The 5K winner ran 16:59 while the median finisher took 32:29. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
