About the Mulberry Island Half Marathon & 5K
The course runs on roads inside Fort Eustis, looping along Mulberry Island Road and other base roads beside the James River. The surroundings are flat tidewater terrain, marshy and open, with a historic character that comes from the land itself rather than any built scenery. It is a working military installation, so access requires base clearance arranged ahead of time.
Bags can be picked up before the start on race morning. The awards ceremony afterward is held in Anderson Field House, which keeps everything on base and close together.
