About the Mt. Hope Church 5K Run for Missions

The race is held at Salisbury Community Park, on a certified course. The terrain is park-style running, and the route has been measured and certified by the local running club. A shorter fun run option shares the morning for younger or less experienced participants. Proceeds go toward missions work, including feeding the homeless, school supplies, toy drives, and local outreach.

Race-day registration is available on the morning of the event, closing out before the start. Awards are handed out on-site right after the main race wraps up, so stick around if you placed in your age group. Nothing gets mailed, so you have to be there to collect.

Common Questions About the Mt. Hope Church 5K Run for Missions

Will I finish last at the Mt. Hope Church 5K Run for Missions?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 58:49, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Mt. Hope Church 5K Run for Missions a good first 5K?

It is a small race (53 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Mt. Hope Church 5K Run for Missions?

The 5K winner ran 17:05 while the median finisher took 36:16. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
