About the Motherlode Monster Dash 5k
The course starts and finishes at Jackson's historic Catholic Cemetery, which sets the tone immediately. It winds through autumn hillside scenery, and the costume contest gives the field a theatrical look from the front of the pack to the back. Proceeds go to a local high school cross country program, so the race has a neighborhood stake to it.
Race-morning check-in opens right at the starting line, so there is no separate pickup location to track down. Parking is at the cemetery on Cemetery Lane in downtown Jackson. After the race, there is a post-race gathering with homemade pumpkin pie, and prizes go to top finishers, age group placers, and best costumes.
