About the Montgomery County All Paws 3K

The course runs on paved paths through Easy Walker Park, so the footing is smooth the whole way. It is an evening race, which keeps things cooler, and the park setting is quiet enough that you can hear the crowd. Dogs on fixed-length leashes and strollers are both welcome on the course, and there are adoptable animals at the event.

Packet pickup opens at the park before the start. After the race there are drinks and snacks, including a regional soft drink, and a raffle with prizes. The event benefits the local animal shelter and a companion rescue organization, with proceeds going toward spay and neuter costs for animals in their care.

Common Questions About the Montgomery County All Paws 3K

Will I finish last at the Montgomery County All Paws 3K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 1.86 Miles field finished slower than 30:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 38:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Montgomery County All Paws 3K a good first 1.86 Miles?

It is a small race (72 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 1.86 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Montgomery County All Paws 3K?

The 1.86 Miles winner ran 14:36 while the median finisher took 30:50. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
