About the Montara Mountain Trail Run
Montara Mountain lives up to its name. The trails climb through dense coastal shrub, huckleberry groves, and manzanita, with the Pacific opening up through the brush as you gain elevation. Nearly all of the running is on single track, and the terrain is relentless enough that every distance option earns its finish.
Check-in is at the Walnut Grove picnic area on race morning. Arrive with enough time to spare before your wave goes out. Those running the longer distances can stash a bag of non-valuables at the start and finish area.
