About the Monster Mash Dash and Zombie Zoom
The theme here is monsters and costumes, and it runs deeper than a decoration choice. High schoolers in full monster costumes roam the course during the longer distances, actively chasing runners, though you can opt out of being chased if that is not your thing. A shorter sprint is on offer for kids, with the main distances open to everyone else.
The start is midday, so no early alarm. The format is loose enough that you can treat it as a costume run or chase a real time, whichever suits the day. Costumes are part of the spirit of the event, and the organizers make clear they want to see them.
