About the Monster Dash 5K at The Bates Motel

The course rolls through farmland and the grounds of a haunted hayride attraction on mixed terrain, so expect grass, dirt, and uneven footing rather than pavement. Costumes are part of the deal here, and a costume contest runs alongside the race. The whole thing benefits the local fire company, which gives the morning a neighborhood-fundraiser feel rather than a typical road race.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the fire company, which keeps race-morning lines short. If you miss it, pickup opens early on race morning before the start. The event goes ahead in rain or shine.
