About the MoMoFo 100k and 20 mile Fun Run
Morgan Monroe State Forest is the real character here. The course winds through old-growth trees, past natural rock formations, creeks, and lakes, nearly all of it on single track with some forest road mixed in. The hills are relentless and the climbing is serious for the distance. Add summer heat and humidity and this is a genuinely hard day in the woods.
The longer distance starts in the evening, so most of the running happens at night. The shorter option covers the same loop, starting in the morning with a generous cutoff. Aid station support is described as substantial at each stop. The race draws a trail crowd that seems to take the difficulty as part of the appeal.

The MoMoFo 100k and 20 mile Fun Run has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
