About the Mission Run in the Ozarks 5K, Half, and Full Marathon

The course runs point-to-point through the streets and highways around Mountain View, starting at a church outside town and finishing at the Stone County Court Square in the center of it. The hills are real, not decorative, and the terrain earns the word challenging. Spectators can post up along the route and at the finish.

Parking is at the starting church, and shuttles bring runners back after the race. Packet pickup opens early on race morning at the same church. Restrooms are available at the Court Square finish.

Common Questions About the Mission Run in the Ozarks 5K, Half, and Full Marathon

Will I finish last at the Mission Run in the Ozarks 5K, Half, and Full Marathon?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:43, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Mission Run in the Ozarks 5K, Half, and Full Marathon a good first 5K?

It is a small race (63 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Mission Run in the Ozarks 5K, Half, and Full Marathon?

The 5K winner ran 19:43 while the median finisher took 36:43. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
