About the Milledgeville Turkey Trot - Oconee River Greenway
The race runs along the Oconee River Greenway, a riverside trail corridor that the organizing foundation actively works to preserve and improve. The course starts and finishes at the same spot, so there is no shuttle or extra logistics to worry about. Several distance options are available, from a short kids' dash to a full walk or run, and the event goes on rain or shine.
Packet pickup is the day before at Oconee Outfitters on Wayne Street in Milledgeville, with race-morning pickup available as well. Age group awards go several places deep, and overall leaders in the longer race compete for prize money. The race is put on by the Oconee River Greenway Foundation, so entry fees go back into the trail.
