About the Miles for Mammograms
Miles for Mammograms is a walk/run with a direct purpose: the money raised goes toward breast imaging for people who are uninsured or underinsured. It is a joint effort between a local nonprofit, a sorority chapter, and a primary healthcare organization, which gives it the feel of a neighborhood health initiative as much as a race.
The collaboration between the organizing groups is visible on race day. These are partners with ties to the Savannah community and a shared focus on access to care, so the atmosphere tends to reflect that shared mission rather than a typical racing calendar event.
