The course follows the Missouri River Trail out of the Siouxland Expo Center, where the start and finish are both held indoors. The trail runs along the river with tree cover and smooth pavement, so the footing is consistent throughout. The half marathon goes out and comes back on the same path; the full marathon takes a redesigned route with river views most of the way.
