About the MIGHTY MADISON'S BIRTHDAY 5K

The course runs on paved paths through Marjorie R. Post Community Park, looping around the grounds several times before turning toward the finish. It is flat park running, close to home for most people who show up, and the laps mean you pass the same water stop and the same faces more than once before you are done.

The race honors Madison, a local girl who died from DIPG, a rare brainstem cancer, and the fund attached to it supports research into that disease. Race-morning registration opens early at the park, so there is no need to sort out a packet the day before.
